Everybody's Falling in Love...Except Me

from The Season Between Summer and Autumn by David Torok

/

about

A slow and sad song about losing the people you once called "closest friends" to the whirlwind of love. Once love becomes a part of these people's lives, suddenly everything revolves around their romantic relationships/marriages and children. In short, they never have quality time to spend with you anymore.

lyrics

[Verse 1]
Everybody's falling in love...but not me
I see them walk hand-in-hand, amorously
Now don't get me wrong, I'm glad to see them smile
But I find myself replaced after awhile

[Verse 2]
Everybody's going on dates...not I
And is it so bad that I don't even ask why?
Traded for a lover, my fate it seems
I look for the light...and find not a beam

[Hook]
Through impermanence's fog, I float
All alone and without the antidote

[Verse 3]
Get me out of this position...it's uncomfortable
Someone reach for my hand, lest I fall
Awake are the nights, gone are the days
Can anyone out there even relate?

[Hook]

[End]
