Getaway Man
03:13
|
|||
Everybody loves the Getaway Man,
Take me away as fast as you can.
Just steer away from trouble and strife,
And protect me with your life!
I know you're all about fun, vacations and more,
And so we travel to the land of sunshine galore.
Everybody loves the Getaway Man,
He really knows how to lend a hand,
Gets you where you need to be,
Wherever in the world that may be!
I want to believe that only certain ones can see him,
But sometimes he's just as visible as my four main limbs.
Getaway Man, how do you do?
Never met a soul as cool as you!
Where we going, may I ask?
Hopefully somewhere with some class!
My life is so much better when you're in it, my friend.
I just hope this time never will come to an end!
Now the Getaway Man is gone,
Turns out his time had come along!
Went back to his little shack,
On the path of Nieromack.
But he says he'll be right back when summertime begins.
I'll be ready for him then and bring tonic and gin!

Snow-Filled Pockets
01:51
|
|||
Today I went outside and filled my pants pockets with snow
For no other reason than just to see how it would feel
It was not wise, it melted and it trickled down my legs
Soaked the bottom half of me, this distraction for the day
As it made me wet, I wondered "How could this be cured?"
Then the idea came and I...
Entered the bathroom door
I ran the hot water and filled up the whole tub
I climbed inside, knowing it would be better than anything from the pub
I was no longer cold
I was rich, this hot water my gold

Sleeping In
05:55
|
|||
I'd love to tell you that everything is under control, but it is not
Can't seem to find my brain, whenever I need to connect the dots
I'm terrified by the size of this gigantic world, about to flip my lid
If I can't stop trembling, soon I will go into a skid
"Hey man, it's not all bad!" you might say, trying to be kind
But all I have to do is turn on the TV, find the news
And then I've changed my mind
Oh, I'm sleeping in today
Through misfortune and anarchy
This world is just insane, I've had enough
I wish I didn't ever have to wake up
From my troubles, I just can't seem to remove this magnifying glass
I'm starting to wonder if this is permanent or something that will pass
And I know that I would take a vacation if I had the time
Short on cash, again I'm scraping the inside of my wallet for dimes
If I had companions, I know they could fill these empty spaces
And I wonder "What would such companions do about my dismal place?"
Now, I'm somewhere else, surrounded by butterflies and bright shining skies
Sporting some shades and a smile
And as I soak up all this beauty and joy, I wish it could last
But it's only a dream...just a dream.

Now, back when you were worth our time,
We saw you were having fun
Playing with your friends and camera
And troubles, there were none
But now it's become evident
That the thrill has left
It's of genuine inspiration
You are now bereft
Back when you were worth our time
You cared to hear our thoughts
Now your ears are deaf to us
You're complacent, aloft
Pursuing your largest passion
You accomplished your life's dream
Then opted for the family life
And now you're all about the green
So, until I find you are worth our time again
I will no longer be accompanying you on this journey of life
Good day, sir
